Kent Lawrence is a native of Norfolk, Virginia with a BS in Business from Old Dominion University with over 28 years experience in business and real estate, owning the “Norfolk Hot Dog” and the “Riverboat” restaurants in Norfolk. He has been licensed in real estate in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and South Carolina and was formerly the Managing Partner of Lawrence and Associates Developers in Maryland. He has experience in real estate development and project management with responsibility for all compliance requirements with State and Local authorities. For his company, he was the leading negotiator on all contracts.

Kent holds or has held the NASD Series 7 and 24 security licenses, C-1, American Society of Pension Actuaries and the IBM Cognos 8 (Business Analysist) Sales Certification. He uses ESRI Geographical Information System (GIS) software for real estate investment analysis, site location and demographic profiling.

Currently, Kent is president of Prestwick Investments, LLC that specializes in research, acquisition and disposition of “net leased retail real estate investments” on behalf of clients.

Kent has served on the Vestry of Shrewsbury Episcopal Church, the Board of Directors of the Kent School, Kent County Tennis League, Airline Pilots Association and the Rotary Club of Chestertown. He is a recipient of Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow award and is a CCIM candidate.

Congruent with his business and real estate background, Lawrence is a former Marine Corp pilot, airshow pilot (Pitts Special) and flew for US Airways for 26 years. He retired in 2006 as an International Airbus 330 Captain. He has also been Captain on the B-737, 757, 767 and is rated in helicopters and float planes.

He is a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and designated Junior Coach by the Titleist Performance Institute. He holds a K-Vest, Level 2, certification and formerly certified, Level 2, TrackMan Professional. Both K-Vest and TrackMan are computer generated software programs used to map the golf swing to correct swing faults. He is the former Head Golf Coach for the Porter Gaud Boys Varsity Golf Team in Charleston, South Carolina.
